Senior/Network Engineer, Alcatel-Lucent

The Job: • Manage, configure, and maintain the AOS switches as part of a broader network infrastructure. • Involve in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and potentially designing and implementing network solutions that include AOS switches. The Role: • Configure and manage Alcatel-Lucent AOS switches, including setting up VLANs, routing protocols, QoS, and other features. • Troubleshoot network issues related to AOS switches, including connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and security breaches. • Optimize AOS switches for performance, including adjusting QoS settings, configuring link aggregation, and implementing other performance-enhancing technologies. • Contribute to the design and implementation of new network solutions that include AOS switches. • Monitor the performance and health of AOS switches and other network devices, and perform regular maintenance tasks. • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security tools. • Work with other network engineers, system administrators, and security professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the network. • Document network configurations, procedures, and other relevant information. The Requirements: • Hands-on experience with Alcatel-Lucent AOS switches: This is the core requirement of the role. • Understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), etc. • Knowledge of network security concepts: Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, etc. • Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve network problems. • Able to work effectively with other IT professionals. • Able to analyze network performance data and identify areas for improvement. • Proficiency with other networking technologies, such as Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls, can be a plus. • Industry-standard certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNA Security) can demonstrate a strong level of expertise.
