The Deamer Group is partnering with The Memphis Area Association of REALTORS (MAAR)! MAAR is one of Tennessee's largest local REALTOR associations, encompassing Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, Hardin, Hardeman and McNairy Counties. MAAR's focus is serving and representing real estate professionals as well as providing real estate information to the public. We have a mission to work in cooperation with REALTORS to create a favorable environment for real estate commerce through legislative advocacy, standards enforcement, database management, communication and professional development.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Professional Development Director to lead our education programs, and professional development initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive executive with strong organizational skills, a passion for education and training, and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships. The Professional Development Director must be adaptable, collaborative, and committed to supporting MAAR's mission.
As the Professional Development Director, you will play a critical role in advancing MAAR's professional development efforts, ensuring the highest quality of education for our members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Under the direction of the CEO and in accordance with the association's policies and procedures, the Director of Professional Development is responsible for executive leadership, vision and strategic planning and the departmental operation for the Education/ Professional Development Department and serve as our Education Foundation staff liaison, including its committees. As the Education Staff liaison, its own C3, will help ensure that Memphis Area Assocation of REALTORS and its education foundation are aligned in meeting the educational needs of our members. This role demands a mindset of ownership, problem-solving, and collaboration. Success is measured not only by what is in your job description but by your impact on the broader organization.
What Your Day Looks Like:
Education & Program Leadership
Strategically plan, organize, market, implement, and document education programs and courses.
Oversee member rosters relating to coursework, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor courses and evaluate instructors to maintain the highest quality of instruction.
Collaborate with the Tennessee Real Estate Commission, Mississippi Real Estate Commission and Arkansas Real Estate Commission to secure credit for courses and seminars.
Direct the setup of the education center for courses and oversee the maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
Provide strategic oversight and support to the Education Foundation, MAAR Leadership Academy, Education Course Monitors Program, Scholarship program, and Professional Development initiatives. This position serves as the liaison of the committees that are charged with these initiatives.
Affiliate Relationships & Member Engagement Lead the Affiliate Sponsor Program for the MAAR Education Foundation.
Serve as a key liaison to the Mid-South CRS Chapter to ensure alignment with MAAR's professional development goals.
Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with multiple departments, stepping in where needed to drive efficiency and success. This may include tasks outside of your primary role to support company-wide objectives. Report directly to the CEO, securing approvals, providing key updates, and ensuring strategic alignment. Supervise the MAAR Events Manager and Administrative Support Coordinator to ensure seamless execution of programs and events. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among members and staff.
Represent MAAR at industry events, conferences, and key meetings to promote professional development initiatives.
Required Skills: Proven executive leadership experience in managing education programs, events, or professional development initiatives.
Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with affiliate members and sponsors.
Exceptional organizational and strategic planning skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Clear and professional communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and committees.
Ability to adapt to evolving needs and take on responsibilities outside of the defined role as necessary.
High level of accountability, ownership, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Skills: Deep familiarity with real estate education programs and industry regulations.
Experience working with professional associations and membership organizations.
Expertise in event planning, sponsorship management, and stakeholder engagement.
