Platform Engineer – (API Gateway)

Requirement: · Design, implement, and manage API Gateway solutions using IBM API Connect v10, IBM Datapower. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate API publishing tasks using CI/CD tools such as GitHub. · Conduct installation, patching, and upgrades of IBM API Connect v10, ensuring optimal performance and security. · Provide support for API Gateway migration projects, leveraging best practices and industry standards. · Monitor and troubleshoot API Gateway performance and reliability in on-prem, cloud environments, particularly on AWS EKS. · Maintain comprehensive documentation of API Gateway configurations, processes, and best practices. · Participate in weekend support for patching, upgrades, and API releases, with option to take time off in-lieu on alternate business days. Skillset (Must have) · Possess a degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related fields. · Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with API Gateways, specifically IBM API Connect v10. · Should have hands-on experience with API management in IBM API Connect v10, IBM Datapower. · Proven experience in CI/CD practices and tools, with a focus on automation in API publishing. · Strong knowledge of IBM API Connect, IBM Datapower administration, including installation and patch management. · Experience working with Cloud platforms (AWS), particularly AWS EKS, and understanding of API Gateway deployment in on-prem VM and public Cloud environments. · Should have experience working with K8s and understanding of Kubectl CLI tools. · Proficient in Linux OS, with strong troubleshooting skills in Linux environments. · Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges. · Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Skillset (Good to have) · Knowledge of Kong API Gateway. · Prior experience in leading or supporting API Gateway migration projects. · Knowledge of monitoring tools like Datadog.
