The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio (MSS) within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled and forward-thinking Lead Chief Engineer to join the Leidos team. This role offers a chance to lead a talented, multidisciplinary group dedicated to advancing a variety of maritime products, including underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, and cutting-edge data acquisition technologies.
As the Lead Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our maritime systems. You will provide both strategic and tactical leadership, driving product innovation, addressing customer needs, and ensuring our designs prioritize manufacturability. You will guide a dynamic team of engineers through all stages of product development, contributing to our reputation as an industry leader.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide strategic and tactical leadership across a portfolio of products
Lead innovative thinking on product improvements and advancements
Identify customer needs and communicate them clearly
Ensure a design-for-manufacturing approach throughout development
Facilitate system design and development of subsystem requirements
Guide a matrixed team of engineers in product development
Actively participate in the Business Capture Process, including proposal writing and review
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Ocean Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited institution
10+ years of engineering experience in subsea maritime programs involving software and electro-mechanical systems
10+ years of manufacturing experience
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience leading design, development, and integration of subsea maritime systems
Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards
Experience with program management responsibilities for DoD programs
Proven track record of transitioning products from development to manufacturing
Familiarity with UUVs, payloads, and deployed subsea systems

Pay Range:
$126,100.00 - $227,950.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
