POSITION SUMMARY The REVIT Design Lead is responsible for allocating and keeping track of Engineering resources to projects, tasks, and appointments. The lead works independently as needed but also works closely with the Engineering Manager to Ensure the resource allocation meets AMBS needs.
The lead also determines department resources and assigns work based on balanced load/ capacity of each Engineer. The Lead also works on developing project sign-off drawings using REVIT and will work with sales staff and the customer during an initial design call via MS Teams following a scripted process to create the project design for quoting.
The Design Lead also creates the design with the primary objective of producing an accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) which will be uploaded into our CRM for the customer quote. You’ll be a member of our Engineering team, contributing to the design of new cutting-edge products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using REVIT software, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair. RESPONSIBILITIES Generates high quality initial models and drawings for customer sign off based on the order documentation provided by the Design Managers and Estimating. Communicates status and updates to the Manager on tasks priorities, commitments and scheduling. Provides updates and confirmation of completed task in Project Management Software. Consults with the Engineering Manager on preliminary drawings, structural design and technical issues. Updates and finalizes sign off drawings created in REVIT that meet established production drawing criteria. Interacts as needed with other departments. Creates and modifies drawings for special assignments. Communicates any discrepancies found in the sales order or drawings to the responsible Design Manager to prevent repeat errors. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED Formal training on REVIT An Associate degree is preferred. 2-3 years of previous work experience in REVIT/Engineering environment. Excellent organization, problem-solving and effective communication skills. Job requires a professional, courteous and customer focused demeanor and attitude. Job requires the management of multiple projects, the ability to prioritize and timeliness. Must be proficient using REVIT with the willingness and capability to learn new applications as required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal but can fluctuate during times of production.
