Reports to Volunteer Marketing Manager JOB SUMMARY
Creates a weekly member newsletter on MailChimp using information supplied by other staff and content posted on other sources. This role involves gathering, organizing, and presenting information in a compelling and engaging manner to keep members informed and engaged with Rainbow City Performing Arts (RCPA) activities, events, and updates. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates and sends weekly member newsletters on MailChimp using iterated templates and email designs. Gathers content from internal postings, blogs, newsletters, and other sources. Writes short content to summarize articles and messaging to entice engagement. Tailors content to member culture and uses an appropriate voice and tone. Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s Mission and Core Values. Complies with the organization’s by-laws, policies, procedures, and code of conduct; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Experience operating an email newsletter or other regular content service. Writing skills creating short content with a given tone and voice. Experience using drag-and-drop content creation applications such as MailChimp. Proven interpersonal and communication skills. SUPPORT
Canva Premium account to create images Marketing Plan and Design Manual to specify policy and communication Campaign briefs and supporting assets to assist in creating posts Orientation and training sessions Additional marketing volunteers and staff to help PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
