About the Job:

The Human Resources department is looking for a

Senior Benefits Analyst

with a strategic and people centered focus on benefit plan administration, data integrity, and retiree planning to lead high-impact projects that shape the employee experience at every stage of the career lifecycle. This role is central to the administration and evolution of the Authority's health, welfare, and retirement programs—serving as both a subject matter expert and a trusted, service-minded partner to employees and leadership.

This role is responsible for managing annual open enrollment, ACA reporting, and benefit audits, while also supporting initiatives that prepare the organization for a growing retiree workforce—including CalPERS Classic members and those entering the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP). With visibility across departments, the Senior Benefits Analyst contributes to strategic planning efforts that directly affect workforce wellbeing, long-term benefit sustainability, and organizational readiness.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in public sector benefits, process efficiency, strong analytical and communication skills, and an ability to build trust across departments by translating policy into practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of airport employees beyond their transition into retirement, while helping the organization prepare for the future through thoughtful benefits planning and data-driven insights.

What You'll Do:

Benefit Plan Administration: Oversee health, welfare, and retirement programs with accuracy and regulatory compliance Open Enrollment Leadership: Plan and manage the annual open enrollment process, including timelines, communications, and system updates ACA & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate ACA reporting (e.g., 1095-C) and adherence to federal, state, and local requirements Retiree Planning & Support: Support initiatives for CalPERS Classic members and employees entering DROP; contribute to retiree-focused strategies Audits & Reconciliation: Conduct benefits audits and reconcile enrollment data, vendor invoices, and payroll deductions Vendor & Contract Oversight: Manage relationships with benefit providers and support contract administration and renewals Data Reporting & Communication: Analyze benefits data to inform decisions and deliver clear, service-oriented guidance to employees and departments

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

Six years of progressively responsible experience in administering benefit plans, compensation programs, and/or leave of absence policies, including at least one year of supervisory or program management experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, human resource management, organizational development, or a closely related field.

Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

Master's degree in business administration, human resource management, organizational development, or a closely related field. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CBP, CEBS, CCP, or PMP designation.
