The Heart Failure Faculty within the Division of Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School provides outstanding patient care, mentoring, and teaching of cardiology fellows. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in clinical and basic science research, as well as assume leadership roles in Heart Failure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand and implement responsibilities related to heart failure services and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.

Provide and maintain high-quality in-patient and out-patient care for heart failure patients.

Provide medical care for patients with heart transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, and those on short- and long-term mechanical circulatory support.

Participate in outreach activities.

Contribute to and participate in the development and maintenance of the division’s educational mission, including teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows at RWJUH and affiliate hospitals in clinical cardiology and other subspecialties.

Participate in CME development programs.

Contribute to the development and sustenance of heart failure research programs.

Collaborate with other faculty to initiate heart failure research studies.

Leadership opportunities in Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support are available.

Education/Qualifications:

MD degree required.

Completion of 3 years of internship and internal medicine residency.

Completion of 3 years of general cardiology fellowship and an accredited advanced heart failure fellowship.

Certificates/Licenses:

Board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Training and certification in echocardiography is a plus.

New Jersey medical license.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $445,000 to $585,000 per year.

The offered compensation will depend on educational background, skills, and experience.
