The Elastic Engineer will be part of a team of Data Analytic Engineers enhancing, maintaining, and sustaining an Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) instance with a focus on data onboarding, content development, configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and visualizations. The candidate must have prior Elastic engineering and administration experience, meet certification prerequisites, and work well in a distributed team environment.
The Duties and Responsibilities include:
Building data pipelines to ingest external datasets into Elastic products.
Designing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing the Elastic Logstash Kibana (ELK) platform.
Installing and configuring ELK.
Using Elastic search Indices, APIs, Kibana Dashboards, Log Stash, and Beats.
Creating or using plug-ins for ELK such as authentication and authorization.
Integrating ELK with enterprise tools and APIs for authentication and authorization.
Implementing complex development use cases using programming languages like Python, Groovy, and Bash.
Monitoring Elastic Search Clusters using appropriate tools.
Required Skills:
Active Secret (S) clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
6+ years of relevant software development experience.
At least 2 years as an Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) admin or equivalent.
At least 2 years with Elasticsearch DSL.
At least 5 years of experience with Kubernetes architecture.
Strong knowledge of ELK stack.
Desired Skills:
Experience working in an agile environment.
Experience supporting federal customers.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Desired Certifications:
DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I (e.g., CISSP) highly desired.
Agile methodology certification (e.g., SCRUM Master) highly desired.
Elastic Certified Engineer, Analyst, or Observable Engineer.
Kubernetes certifications such as KCNA, CKA, CKS, etc.
