American Century Investments is seeking a Municipal Credit Analyst to join the Municipal Markets Team. The analyst will conduct in-depth research and analysis on various municipal bond sectors and issuers, collaborating with other analysts and portfolio managers to provide insights and recommendations for investment strategies. Key Responsibilities
Conduct fundamental financial, market, and macro research on municipal bonds. Perform sector-oriented research and financial analysis across the ratings spectrum. Analyze economic, financial, and industry trends, and assess creditworthiness. Communicate investment research through verbal and written forms. Produce written credit reports and provide regular surveillance. Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes. Participate in meetings with issuers, rating agencies, and other market participants. Required Experience
3-5 years of relevant municipal credit research experience from a buy-side, sell-side, bond insurance, or rating agency. Legal background with experience in analyzing legal documents and regulatory frameworks. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field. Superior research skills and ability to distill and share investment insights. Proficiency with investment platforms (Bloomberg, Perform CreditScope, FactSet) and Excel or programming languages (e.g., Python). Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Assets (Preferred)
MBA and/or CFA desired but not required. Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for this role is $115,000.00 - $145,000.00, with a competitive compensation package including a bonus plan, generous PTO, 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
