Job Overview A prominent southeastern law firm with a national practice is seeking an experienced Financial Restructuring Attorney to join its Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring group in the Charlotte, NC office. This opportunity is ideal for a senior attorney with a strong background in corporate restructuring, creditor representation, and complex financial transactions, particularly involving distressed credits. The role offers a path for leadership and client development, with support from a nationally recognized legal team and a robust platform for continued professional success. Location Charlotte, North Carolina Duties Represent national and regional banks, financial institutions, and private equity-backed portfolio companies in complex restructuring matters Manage distressed asset workouts, out-of-court restructurings, and syndicated credit facility issues Identify and resolve insolvency-related issues in lending documentation Provide legal counsel on financial restructuring strategies and litigation Advise special situation funds and their sponsors in distressed transactions, both in and out of court Contribute to client development and maintain long-standing relationships Collaborate with other attorneys in a full-service restructuring practice Requirements Minimum of 7 years of corporate restructuring experience, preferably at an Am Law 100 or comparable BigLaw firm Demonstrated experience with distressed credit workouts and insolvency-related matters Familiarity with finance transactions considered a plus Strong business acumen and strategic thinking in high-stakes financial situations Exceptional communication and drafting skills Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school Certifications Admission to the North Carolina State Bar preferred Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if not already admitted Skills Advanced understanding of bankruptcy, restructuring, and commercial finance Ability to interpret and revise complex lending documents in distressed contexts Strong client service orientation and relationship management Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with superior organizational and problem-solving abilities Competitive compensation based on experience and seniority level Dental, vision, and prescription coverage Cash Balance Pension Plan or Flexible Spending Accounts Life and AD&D Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability Financial Wellness Program Parental leave (maternal/paternal), vacation pay, holiday leave, and bereavement leave Body Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program Bar application and bar review course costs covered Company info
