Job Description
The purpose of this job is to oversee all of the company’s income tax matters, including federal and state income tax return preparation and review, tax notice management, and audit management.
In this role you will:
Oversee, lead, and set priorities for the tax team
Select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, including appraising job performance and conducting reviews
Serve as a subject matter expert in income tax matters; research projects on taxability, answer internal and external tax questions, and resolve important tax issues
Perform tax return reviews
Manage tax audits and related projects
Qualifications
Master's Degree in accounting, business, JD, or equivalent professional degree required
Minimum seven years’ multistate tax experience
Minimum five years’ supervisory experience required
Law license or Certified Public Accountant certification
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to manage and lead a team
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and explaining financial principles to non-finance team members
Ability to set priorities, multitask, meet deadlines, and resolve problems with a high sense of urgency
Ability to perform general office work, including sitting or standing for long periods
Lift up to 20 pounds
