Job DescriptionJob Description Role: Signal Integrity Engineer Our client is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven

Signal Integrity Engineer

to contribute to the design and development of market-leading hardware platform solutions. This role will serve as a

subject matter expert

in signal integrity, supporting the design, simulation, validation, and troubleshooting of high-speed digital PCBs. The engineer will be involved in end-to-end hardware development, including lab measurements and review of critical board designs for signal integrity concerns. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise in digital PCB planning, simulation, and lab verification.

Analyze and troubleshoot signal integrity issues in existing designs.

Perform design reviews focusing on high-speed PCB layout and signal integrity.

Collaborate across engineering teams to define and validate next- hardware technologies for networking, server, and storage systems.

Conduct lab-based measurements including TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) and VNA (Vector Network Analyzer).

Design custom test fixtures and develop probing solutions for high-speed testing.

Interpret simulation and measurement results (time domain and frequency domain) for application suitability.

Generate and analyze eye diagrams (NRZ and PAM4) up to 50 Gbps.

Optimize designs considering cost vs. performance trade-offs.

Provide guidance on PCB stack-up and fabrication constraints.

Communicate project status, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders.

Engage with suppliers and customers on product roadmaps and technical support.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Experience designing and analyzing complex multilayer PCBAs (36+ layers).

Strong foundation in signal integrity principles: impedance control, crosstalk (near-end and far-end), signal loss, etc.

Experience with high-speed signaling: single-ended and differential signals up to 50 Gbps.

Hands-on experience using component models (Touchstone files) and building full system models for simulation.

Proficient in simulating digital interfaces (e.g., FPGA to DRAM, SERDES).

Ability to simulate analog paths involving PCB, connectors, and cables.

Skilled with 2D and 3D simulation tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, ANSYS HFSS, Cadence Sigrity).

Strong understanding of electrical length calculations and signal matching techniques.

Expertise with data-eye diagram analysis (NRZ, PAM4).

Proficient in Allegro or similar PCB layout and schematic tools.

Experience with high-frequency board materials and stack-up design.

Familiar with fabrication processes, limitations, and cost considerations.

Experience in flex circuit design for high-speed applications.

Able to work independently and troubleshoot under minimal supervision.

Typical Experience 5–20+ years of experience in high-speed signal delivery design and evaluation.

Extensive experience with both on-board (PCB-level) and off-board (connectors, ribbon/coaxial cables) signal integrity challenges.

Typical Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree ).
