Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a team of underwriters, managing 2 Managing Directors and 1 indirectly. Manage profit and production of construction business for Guaranteed Cost, Loss Sensitive, Wrap Up, and Excess Construction P&L. Build strategic partnerships with key Construction agents, brokers, and clients. Develop and implement segment sales plans and maintain insight into competitors. Attract, select, and develop high-caliber talent while ensuring staff continuity. Partner with Construction Underwriting Officers to establish book vision and monitor pricing. Develop territorial strategic and operating plans leveraging agent/broker relationships. Qualifications:
Strong Property & Casualty background with experience in Loss Sensitive, Guaranteed Cost, and Wrap Up insurance programs. Advanced degree and/or relevant industry designation (e.g., CRIS, CPCU, ARM, or CIC) preferred. 10+ years of underwriting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership/management role. Strong existing relationships with regional agents and national brokers in the Western region. Solid financial/business acumen skills. Ability to travel extensively (25-50%) and work in the office 2-3 days per week. Compensation:
The annualized base pay range is $184,000 - $276,000, with potential for bonuses and other incentives. Equal Opportunity Employer.
