Team Lead Infrastructure & Network Engineering Team
Romeo, Marathon, Florida, United States, 33050
We are looking for an experienced and driven Team Lead to guide our Infrastructure & Network Engineering team. Our current infrastructure is datacenter-based, and we are planning a transition to a hybrid setup that integrates AWS cloud services. As the team lead, you will oversee a group of skilled system and network engineers, ensure the availability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure, and play a key role in strategic decisions regarding infrastructure automation, observability, and Kubernetes-based platforms.
This is a highly technical leadership role where you will balance hands-on expertise with strategic oversight. Youll collaborate cross-functionally to support deployment pipelines, networking operations, and our overall DevOps maturity.
Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of system and network engineers. Drive the design and implementation of a hybrid infrastructure strategy (datacenter + AWS). Oversee networking operations including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and secure remote access. Own Kubernetes cluster operations, ensuring high availability, scalability, and automation. Implement and enforce infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Gitlab, Terraform and Ansible. Drive observability initiatives using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic. Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with development and product needs. Establish incident response strategies and contribute to on-call procedures. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and operational policies (e.g., GDPR, internal standards). Evaluate and manage third-party tools, hardware, and services relevant to infrastructure and networking. 5+ years of experience in system and/or network engineering roles. At least 2 years in a leadership or technical management position. Experience working with both datacenter environments and AWS, or leading migration to cloud-based infrastructure. Deep knowledge of Kubernetes in production, including setup, scaling, and observability. Strong networking expertise (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls). Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation (Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible, etc.). Familiarity with monitoring/alerting platforms and managing SLOs/SLAs.
Nice to have would be
Experience with Rancher for Kubernetes cluster management. Experience with Foreman and/or Puppet for provisioning and configuration management. Experience with service meshes like Istio. Background in IT security or compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows. Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and/or CCNP.
