On-Vehicle Visualization & Tools Team

who is responsible for designing, implementing, fielding and improving visualization tooling, log playback tooling, as well as all in-car operator displays for our safety drivers, vehicle operators, and test engineers. Your team develops tools that are used to view data produced by the Motional self driving vehicles, as well as simulations. Your tools are critical to the autonomy developer building software as well as the operations team monitoring the vehicles performance. This team works closely with various software and and R&D teams to come up with custom and standard solutions to improve visualizations. What you'll be doing: Provide technical leadership to the team Be responsible for the professional growth of your team members. Collaborate with customer teams to develop tool roadmaps Define technical strategy and tooling solutions supporting autonomy, software test and system validation customer teams. Collaborate with designers, autonomy engineers, cloud engineers Assisting Developers, Test Engineers, simulation designers, and Vehicle Operators What we're looking for: You’re able to leverage insights to effectively manage geographically dispersed teams 5+ years professional experience in software development 3+ years professional experience leading software development teams Experience with Linux and scripting languages (Bash/Shell, Python) Experience in using issue tracking and configuration management tools (Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Git) Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think logically and remove bias from evaluation of problems High level of accuracy and attention to details Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment Flexible schedule and willing to attend evening/night meetings. Basic understanding of robotics systems including sensors, actuators, mechanical and software systems. Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent knowledge and work experience Preferred, but not required: Good understanding of robotics systems including sensors, actuators, mechatronics and software systems Experience with autonomous driving, robotics systems or other distributed systems Experience with building automated tests, test automation frameworks, tools, and/or infrastructure Experience with integration of automated test scripts with DevOps CI/CD pipeline Experience in technical writing, technical drawings and documentation of mechatronics systems is preferred Experience with testing of ADAS subsystems and self-driving features SW/HW/system integration tests and building benches Experience working with Jenkins (or other CI system) Familiarity with Linux/Unix environment Familiarity with Docker The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. The estimated compensation range listed in this job posting reflects base salary only. This role may include additional forms of compensation such as a bonus or company equity.
