The Real Estate Services (RES) division of DCAS supports the operations of the government of the City of New York by providing services for the City’s real estate needs. RES is responsible for space planning and management of 37 million square feet, Citywide acquisitions (lease or purchase), sales and other dispositions of City-owned real estate, architectural design and project management, zoning and land use analyses, disposition of 15,000 City-owned lots, property valuation, and financial analysis of real estate transactions. The RES Leasing & Acquisitions Unit is responsible for finding space for City agency operations and negotiating leases and purchases on behalf of the City. The transactions must satisfy client agency requirements and conform to the City's policies and procedures. The Director of Leasing will be responsible for the following: Identify suitable sites to satisfy program requirements, prepare market analysis reports, and coordinate with Tenant Representatives. Negotiate cost-effective commercial leases and licenses on behalf of the City. Prepare and maintain project schedules. Manage project status reports in DCAS systems. Manage a team of transaction managers and specialists. Communicate with client agencies about project status, issues, budgets, and risks. Develop and complete legal documents such as leases and notices. Partner with Design and Project Management units to ensure lease execution. Maintain effective project management and control of leasing processes. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external community organizations. Provide transaction data for approvals and public testimony. Prepare ARC packages for transaction approval. 1. A high school diploma and six years of experience in real property management, including 18 months in a managerial role with supervision and decision-making responsibilities. Experience in building construction, property management, site management, relocation, or building maintenance counts towards this requirement. 2. A bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience, including 18 months in a managerial capacity. 3. A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with at least 18 months managerial experience. College credits can substitute for some experience. Preferred Skills

Knowledge of NYC commercial real estate and leasing. Management and leadership skills. Strong analytical, project management, negotiation, and communication skills. Familiarity with design, construction, and NYC processes and regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills. Additional Information
