Job Summary:

The Digital Product Designer leads our efforts in creating intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences that cater to the highly technical and complex nature of our client projects. The Product Designer works closely with cross-functional teams, manages client projects, and contributes to the overall success of the project by ensuring that design meets the project requirements and deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both user interface and user experience design, with a proven track record of simplifying and enhancing the user experience for complex technology products with experience in collaboration, innovative thinking, all required to achieving the goals of the project and delivering the highest quality results to the clients.

Job Duties:

Leads the development of and maintains design guidelines, best practices, and standards

Designs intuitive and user-friendly interfaces and experiences for complex and highly technology clients, ensuring they align with human-centered design principles

Leads the functional workstream of functional designers and gathering business and functional requirements from clients to translate into the best potential design

Creates wireframes, business process flows, user flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

Manages and oversees design tasks, aligning back to project timelines, budgets, and client expectations

Collaborates closely with other departments, developers, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and integrate user feedback into design decisions

Leads technical discussions with team members to enhance delivery efficiency, adding expertise to support project objectives

Communicates effectively with other departments, the project team, and the client team/stakeholders

Stays abreast of the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies, applying best practices to our projects and processes

Presents and defends designs and key milestone deliverables to project teams and clients

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees and delegates to junior business analysts

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor's degree, required

Experience:

Six (6) or more years professional experience as a UI/UX designer, or technical/functional business analyst or equivalent IT Solutions and technology role, required

Experience gathering, documenting requirements and leading working sessions, required

A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user interface design, user experience design, and simplifying the user experience for complex products, required

Web application design experience, required

Mobile application design experience, preferred

License/Certifications:

Certification in UX Design or Interaction Design, preferred

Software:

Proficient in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Figma), required

Azure DevOps, Atlassian Products including JIRA, Visio or other project management tools, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and disciplines

Knowledge of the software development life cycle and demonstrate the ability to multiple teams

Ability to proactively identify risks and participate in the mitigation plan

Ability to solve problems, identify solutions, and appropriately escalate issues

Excellent knowledge of leading practices in design and management of a design function

Strong problem-solving skills

Strong organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details

Strong knowledge of human centered design

Excellent understanding of the full mobile and web development process, including design, development, and deployment

Strong knowledge of accessibility requirements for designs

Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to effectively lead a team of product design professionals and delegate work assignments as needed

Ability to encourage team environment on projects and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $118,000 - $155,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $118,000 - $155,000 Maryland Range: $118,000 - $155,000
