We seek a strategic and technically exceptional Director of AI Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions across our platforms. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive innovation to improve trial efficiency, compliance, and data integrity within a GxP-regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and own the AI/ML roadmap aligned with company goals.
Lead strategic AI initiatives supporting decentralized trials, eSource data, eCOA, EDC, and regulatory systems.
Identify automation, prediction, and decision support opportunities within clinical workflows.
Build and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and developers.
Define best practices in AI model development, MLOps, and software engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, interpretable, and compliant solutions.
Oversee the development lifecycle of AI features within our platforms.
Partner with Product and UX teams to ensure AI tools are intuitive and valuable.
Ensure timely deployment of AI components within Azure cloud environments.
Develop AI governance frameworks aligned with industry regulations.
Drive responsible AI practices with explainable and bias-mitigated models.
Collaborate with QA and Compliance teams to validate AI systems.
Stay updated with advancements in NLP, computer vision, and generative AI relevant to life sciences.
Foster partnerships with research institutions, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
Masters or Ph.D. in relevant fields.
10+ years in software engineering/data science, with 5+ years in AI/ML leadership.
Experience delivering AI solutions in regulated industries.
Proficiency in Python, ML frameworks, and MLOps tools.
Deep understanding of Azure cloud and microservices architecture.
Experience with clinical trial systems (e.g., EDC, ePRO).
Knowledge of validation processes and regulatory AI guidelines.
Experience with unstructured data and enterprise SaaS integration.
