Lead and manage 20–25 employees in the Utilities Department, including Boiler Operations, Wastewater Treatment, and Landfill Operations Ensure environmental compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including working with state agencies such as DEP and VDEQ, and managing Title V air permitting requirements Own the environmental calendar and oversee reporting, permit renewals, and inspections Maintain accurate documentation and databases for compliance and environmental performance Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support investment projects Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence Contribute to emergency response planning, spill management, and insurance compliance Recommend equipment upgrades and process optimizations (add about preventative maintenance)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance or a related industry Extensive experience managing powerhouse and/or effluent treatment operations Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance programs Familiarity with air emissions, water pollution control, hazardous materials, and waste management Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to influence and gain buy-in for proposed solutions
