ABOUT THE DESIGN MANAGER

The Primary responsibility of the Design Manager is to manage design process, produce design documentation with quality assurance and manage third party consultants.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST

Produce and manage comprehensive drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. Support the Sr. Design manager in the ongoing development and refinement of conceptual design ideas, mood boards, schematic layouts, design development, and construction drawings. Ensure proper review of construction drawings, construction administration and third-party coordination. Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and drawing quality across all design phases. Coordination and collaboration with designers, external architects, engineers, consultants and contractors where required by Sr. Design Manager. Collaborate on design research, precedent studies, and visual presentations that communicate design intent clearly. Contribute to space planning refinement, interior layouts, finishes, FF&E selections, and 3D visualizations as needed. Manage and ensure the correct installation of design-built components by external vendors. Manage all phases of design projects upon initiation from Sr. Design Manager, including project set-up, design and construction administration. Establish, maintain and regularly report on design schedules to Sr. Design Manager. Manage project scheduling, budgets, coordination and RFIs with sub-contractors, vendors and consultants. Coordinate and collaborate with a range of project team sizes both internally and externally.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a professional design environment (hospitality design preferable) Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe creative suite, 3D modeling software (Rhino), and Microsoft Office. Ability to balance creative vision with technical execution and project constraints. Expertise in technical details, space planning, ADA requirements, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability too clearly and concisely present design ideas and direction. Highly organized Ability to collaborate and work on multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Ability to problem solve design-related challenges, and recommend solutions in accordance with brand standards

Salary Description
