Portfolio Accountant (San Francisco)

Insight Investment is looking for a Portfolio Accountant to join the Stabile Value team in San Francisco. The Portfolio Accountant will be part of a Fixed Income investment operations team responsible for maintaining the integrity of portfolio accounting records, performing reconciliations on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, and supporting operational functions across the back-office. Role Responsibilities Reconcile cash, positions and transaction data against custodians, trustees, and counterparties Ensure all accounting breaks and discrepancies with custodians are identified and resolved in a timely manner Perform cash positions reconciliations for assigned accounts, input cash and other balancing information into internal system Account for ongoing investment operations activities Generate and validate accounting reports; maintain internal files and records in accordance with department standards Provide support for annual audit activities Assist with special projects as needed and coordinates communication between the trading desk, trade settlement, custodian banks, and portfolio managers to resolve issues Document procedures and recommend enhancements to accounting and reconciliation workflows Experience Required BS/BA required with a focus on Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field Experience in portfolio accounting, reconciliations with investment operations is preferred Strong team player with effective communication skills Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent time management and organisational skills, proven ability to multitask and prioritise Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA, Macro, and functions such as SUMIF is a plus Insight is committed to being an inclusive employer and encourages applications from all suitably qualified applicants irrespective of background, circumstances, age, disability, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
