Position Summary:
• Plan, layout, install, wire and test electrical equipment on a 40 to 100-ton overhead crane structure and trolly according to standard work. Duties/Responsibilities:
• Plan, lay out and install electrical equipment and components from complete or incomplete engineering specifications and/or schematics drawings.
o Work from drawings and specifications with ability to follow a blueprint, understand specifications, and follow other manufacturing instructions while accurately building and assembling heavy machinery parts and equipment in a timely fashion.
• Bend pipe and install on 40 to 100-ton overhead crane structure and trolley.
• Determine length, measure, cut cable, conduit, and run wire using hands. Install, using jib and overhead cranes, power tools, pliers, soldering equipment, strippers, screw drivers, hammers, power drills, etc.
• Assemble and install AC and DC electrical or electronic wiring, systems & equipment on 40 to 100-ton overhead crane using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes hand tools and power tools to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Lay out and install routine wire circuits and connect pre-wired components.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, or other components. Bend conduit and install wire to motors and other electrical components.
• Assemble electrical cabinets and other components on a 40 to 100-ton overhead crane structure and trolly.
• An ability to learn various motor controllers, wireless controllers and circuits that are used on the crane to help identify problems or defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure proper operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, and general knowledge of electrical systems. Required Skills/Abilities:
• This position requires a strong foundation in electrical principles, attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to interpret schematics, and handle tools and equipment.
• Experience with electrical equipment and components, conduits, wires, cables, straps, tape, other miscellaneous hardware items, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings required.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, and general knowledge of electrical systems.
• Understanding of electrical/electronic theory, including AC/DC systems, single- and three-phase power, resistance, and grounding principles.
• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. • Ability to read a tape measure required.
• Previous experience with 3/8" and 1/2" corded and cordless drills, grinder, plasma cutter, torch and welders required.
• Detail-oriented and consistent.
• Works well as a productive member of a team.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must have own basic tools.

• Able to climb ladders and able to work above ground (not afraid of heights). Typical working heights begin at 3 1/2 feet above ground.
• Work on knees or while laying on back.
• Ability to climb, squat, sit, twist, bend, and kneel required.
• Work with arms overhead.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, 75# on occasion.
• Able to stand for several hours at a time.
• Must be comfortable working in tight spaces.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
