Whitehall City School District Qualifications: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Ability to work well with the public and specifically school children. Experience in the preparation of school lunches or related retail/food service. Ability to organize and carry out lunchroom procedures. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Good health, physical stamina, fitness, and vitality.
Report To:
Director of Food and Nutrition Services Performance Responsibilities: Assume responsibilities of head cook in head cooks absence. Perform routine food service tasks as instructed. Lift and carry items occasionally. Learn the operation of food service equipment. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards. Present a neat appearance and personal cleanliness. Collaborate with other food service staff and share workload responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Cook or Principal.
Specific Duties: Assist in food preparation and serving. Sort dishes, silverware, and other items for washing. Operate the dishwasher. Wash pots, pans, and utensils. Maintain cleanliness of serving areas and floors. Clean kitchen and dining areas. Ensure adequate food on the serving line. Clean tables, steam tables, and food prep equipment. Set up and store computer equipment daily. Handle money and make change accurately. Understand and operate the computer system. Generate reports as needed. Understand procedures for free and reduced lunch programs.
Additional Working Conditions: Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. Strong observation and communication skills. Perform strenuous tasks like lifting with students. Assist students with behavioral or management needs. Work evenings and/or weekends frequently.
Evaluation: The employee will be evaluated annually by the building principal according to the Boards policy and collective bargaining agreement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
