Hadoop Application Support Specialist

Our client, a leader in the technology sector, is seeking a Hadoop Application Support Specialist to join their team. As a Hadoop Application Support Specialist, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical applications within the data lake environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence, which will align successfully with the organization. What's the Job? + Support multiple projects with competing deadlines while ensuring timely delivery. + Monitor production applications 24/7 to meet service level agreements (SLAs). + Triage and remediate job failures effectively to minimize downtime. + Collaborate with upstream and downstream applications to resolve delays or data issues. + Generate and submit reports to senior management on application performance and issues. What's Needed? + Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field, or equivalent education and related training. + Seven years of experience in data warehousing architectural approaches and a minimum of four years in big data (Cloudera). + Strong understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Map Reduce, Hive, Impala, Spark, and Kafka. + Proficiency in Unix shell scripting and experience with large SQL-based systems. + Excellent presentation skills to communicate technical topics to diverse audiences.
