Our client is undertaking a large transformation to implement new best-of-breed technology with a focus on Cloud, SaaS, and systems integration. The Manager of Software Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance value and productivity across the enterprise. This role involves solving complex problems with broad business impact and developing technical software strategies centered on modern application architecture. Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional Scrum teams to deliver results aligned with the Product Owners roadmap, ensuring high quality and adherence to IT strategy. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Coach team members for career development and conduct regular one-on-ones, skip-level meetings, and cross-training. Manage the full lifecycle of software products, including planning and execution. Collaborate with agile teams to prioritize user stories, balancing trade-offs for continuous delivery of business value. Promote Agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, WIP limits, and lean thinking. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate across the organization. Manage vendor and consulting relationships with accountability and performance oversight. Ensure data integrity, system security, and proper testing of system changes. Support DevOps pipelines, QA automation, performance, and site reliability initiatives. Lead IT strategy planning and initiatives. Partner with Finance for budgeting and forecasting, aligning with IT roadmaps. Measure and report on IT department goals and metrics. Drive continuous improvement in IT processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure accurate time reporting and financial accounting. Conduct goal setting and performance reviews. Partner with business stakeholders to deliver value-added services. Coordinate with other departments to comply with policies on security, risk, sourcing, and HR. Work with business and technology partners to understand and meet client needs. Facilitate technology discussions and decision-making within teams. Gather technical requirements, assess capabilities, and analyze solutions. Manage development of solutions to improve efficiencies and add value. Lead process improvements, integrations, and automation, including testing. Implement best practices and standards for operations. Define operational processes and standards for scalable, cost-effective services. Manage risk within the technical architecture in collaboration with security teams. Maintain technical documentation and stay updated on emerging technologies. Participate in community activities related to relevant products and capabilities. About You

Bachelors degree in MIS, computer science, engineering, or related field, or 3-5 years of relevant experience. 3-5 years leading software engineering teams. Experience with designing and implementing application integration patterns. Familiarity with integration platforms like Dell Boomi or Mulesoft. Experience managing the full lifecycle of technology products. Background in cloud-native architecture and software engineering. Strong understanding of complex product and process technologies. Proven ability to design scalable applications and platforms. Preferred experience in retail, merchandising, or supply chain technology. Experience leading Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects. Deep expertise in solution design, delivery, and enterprise system integration. Experience in budget planning and financial management. Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and Cloud concepts. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
