ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE Medix is seeking a Data Security Engineer for a contract to permanent opportunity with one of our top healthcare clients.
Our client is a non-profit healthcare services organization that owns and manages a single source of truth for healthcare providers, authorization and membership data. This product is a cloud-native application and is hosted in Azure Cloud.
We are seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer who will focus on designing, implementing, and maturing our client's enterprise-wide data protection strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to a Director of Data Security, and collaborating with leaders/ executives from across the company. Exceptional communication skills and finesse are required. Contributing to the strategy around data protection and data security posture management for a public-facing cloud native application that leverages a number of cloud data stores and APIs. Working with large amounts of healthcare data (structured/unstructured, on-prem/cloud/endpoints). Contributing to the enterprise-wide data protection strategy - from DLP to DSPM, data ingestion, and data movement throughout the cloud-native ecosystem. Microsoft Azure experience is preferred over AWS or GCP. Partnering collaboratively with the Data Engineering / Data Science teams to design and engineer the Data Security solutions: Implementing data rights enforcement and role-based access controls. Leading efforts to mask sensitive data Leading Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and deploying tools like Wiz.ai. Leading inventory and classification of data with Microsoft Purview Integrating DLP/DSPM tools with SIEM for incident response. Developing and enforcing data protection policies, applying/tuning DLP policies. Analyzing DLP alerts, leading data monitoring/threat detection. Documenting / mapping data flows. Working with large amounts of healthcare data moving in and out of a customer-facing, cloud-native application ecosystem and directly supporting HITRUST/HIPAA compliance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required - Permanent Work Authorization 7-10+ Years of professional experience in Data Security Exceptional communication skills Prior Healthcare experience preferred Prior industry experience in a regulatory compliance and data-driven ecosystem Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Stores Data Classification with Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management with Wiz.ai
