be an available benefit for certain positions upon meeting the policy requirements Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
Three years of experience or training in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software); OR
Possession of a CompTIA A+ Certification plus one of the following:
1. Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR 2. Two years of experience in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every six semester hours earned from an accredited college or university in electronics or computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar. Job Specification

Job Duties:
Reviews work and provide guidance to lower-level Electronic Technicians on projects. Read and interprets complex electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts during diagnosis and repair of electronic equipment. Installs, updates, and expands components and systems and recommends corrections, etc.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type : Probational or Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of Louisiana State Government
Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. Other Important Information:
