Operations Manager I
We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing to lead, optimize, and drive daily plant operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of leadership, a continuous improvement mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving. You'll play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost efficiency across the site. Domestic relocation is offered for this role. Responsibilities: Oversee daily production operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets. Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and team leaders to ensure high performance. Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and lead structured problem-solving (e.g., A3, 5 Whys, fishbone) to resolve operational issues. Collaborate with planning, maintenance, quality, engineering, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and financial acumen. Support S&OP process by aligning production plans and capacity with demand forecasts and work-in-progress inventory targets. Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all EHS policies and procedures. Identify and execute productivity and cost-reduction initiatives. Support implementation of digital tools (e.g., SAP, dashboards, automation) as part of the plant's technology improvement journey. Participate in internal and external audits; maintain documentation and compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO, UL, Nuclear standards). Serve as a change agent during improvement or transformation initiatives. What Your Background Should Look Like: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, on management roles only. Proven track record in leading teams and driving performance improvements. Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and basic Six Sigma tools. Familiar with MES systems (SAP preferred). Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Able to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: APICS, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean certification. Experience in high-mix / low volume or regulated manufacturing (e.g., medical devices, automotive, energy). Exposure to SIOP or digital transformation projects. Bilingual in English and Spanish (not obligatory) Software Skills: Must have: Microsoft Excel (Advanced level): Data analysis, dashboards, KPI tracking, capacity planning, project management, cost modeling. ERP Systems (e.g., SAP ideal, Oracle, Plex): For managing production schedules, inventory, BOMs, cost tracking, and reports. MS Teams / Outlook (Advanced level): Document sharing, real-time collaboration, meeting minutes, and data collection. MES Systems (e.g., Rockwell, Hydra, ClariProd): For real-time shop floor monitoring, performance tracking (OEE), and traceability. Plus:
