Senior Mechanical Engineer - Advanced Power Generation

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Design mechanical systems supporting Conventional and Renewable Power Generation Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility Function in a senior-level engineer capacity which includes: Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on complex projects Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection Understand, manage, and adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements As a Systems Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a member of our Mechanical Engineering Department, which is housed within our BV Operations team. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. Desired experience for this position includes expertise in the following areas: Simple and Combined Cycle plant design Condensate and Feedwater systems P&ID development Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Natural, and/or CO2 gas supply system Cooling water, including closed cycle systems High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam system Instrument and/or Service Air Systems Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems Service and Potable water supply system Performing calculations such as pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Professional Engineer (PE) license Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. This opportunity will be based out of our World Headquarters office in Overland Park, KS.
