Job Title
As a key member of the Payer Contract Analytics team, this individual will be responsible for performing contract data analytics via data driven payer level analysis for AbbVie's key Payer customer(s) across multiple channels of pharmaceutical businesses such as the Commercial Insurance channel, Medicare and Medicaid Channels. The role is a meld of Analytics and Finance, requiring collaboration with cross-functional business partners including Marketing, Finance, field-based Account Managers, and IT. The individual in this role will help to ensure AbbVie has the appropriate pricing and contracting analytics for our current products, as well as future pipeline products. Key Job Responsibilities
Responsible for performing analytics related to contracting for key products & therapeutic areas (Immunology, Migraine, Antipsychotic, GI, Women's Health, HCV) to assess qualitative & financial impacts of pharmacy and/or medical contracting with National & Regional payers. Provide insights into the Payer customer contracting dynamics across Commercial & Medicare channels & businesses. Collaborate with stakeholders including Finance, Marketing & Field-based Account Managers to ensure optimized decision making on contracting for access. Ensure company has appropriate pricing & contracting analytics for current (in-line) & new (pipeline) products, for this payer. Perform analysis on deal/ no-deal decisions, inclusive of gross-to-net assessment of any proposed payer contract and economics from the payer perspective (as needed), ensuring accuracy of analysis, & communicating results & recommendations from analysis to cross-functional stakeholders, in oral and/or written form. Contribute to internal presentations for approval of strategy & read-outs with key stakeholders, & independently address contracting analysis questions. Conduct retrospective analysis of payer contract to ensure Actuals align with forecasted financials & adjust contract models, as needed. Supervise work of junior team members, as required. Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics or a highly related field of study, & 5 years of work experience in financial modeling &/ or data analytics in the pharmaceutical, health care or other industry that requires in-depth business/ data analytics Alternatively, would accept a Masters in the same disciplines & 3 years of work experience in financial modeling &/ or data analytics in the pharmaceutical, health care or other industry that requires in-depth business/ data analytics Strong business and financial acumen
prior experience in pharmaceutical Contracting analysis with an emphasis on data and financial analysis would be optimal A working knowledge and understanding of the ever-evolving pharmacy channel stakeholder economics, including Payers, Pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) Experience analyzing patient claims data (e.g. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Health data) for Pharmacy channel products. Expert level knowledge of tools like PowerBI to extract/ analyze data and communicate a story through insights Ability to develop insights and communicate effectively to cross-functional business partners, in both oral and written form Programming in SAS, SQL, &/or Python performing data analysis & modeling Managing complex data sets in Excel, using intermediate and advanced Excel skills including building & manipulating pivot tables, macros, & index match functions Autonomy in evaluating complex data sets, synthesizing outcomes, succinctly summarizing the analytical findings, preparing presentation decks using PowerPoint & orally delivering analysis and reporting for cross-functional teams & leadership Experience managing and delivering projects from start to finish with supervision, as needed Additional Information
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
