This position holds key responsibility for the overall management, coordination, and performance of laboratory operations, ensuring high standards in clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and personnel management. As a member of the leadership team, the Regional Laboratory Director plays a pivotal role in integrating laboratory services into the broader goals of our health system, advancing patient care through innovation, standardization, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational oversight of all laboratory services across designated regional facilities. Collaborate with department managers and hospital leadership to align laboratory operations with clinical, financial, and regulatory objectives. Lead the development and management of departmental budgets, capital planning, productivity metrics, and cost analyses. Ensure regulatory compliance with agencies such as HFAP, CAP, CMS, FDA, NRC, and COLA. Direct outreach laboratory operations, including business development, logistics, billing, and client engagement. Serve as a liaison and resource for hospital administrators, medical staff, and providers. Guide LIS (Laboratory Information Systems) strategy and collaborate with IT to optimize integration with EMRs. Drive workforce management activities including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and staff development. Develop and implement policies, protocols, and best practices in laboratory services. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees. Represent laboratory services in strategic joint ventures and partnerships within Deaconess Health System. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
Required Master's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hospital laboratory management experience
Required Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment
