Food Service Worker - Catering
The Food Service Worker - Catering performs a variety of food service functions including but not limited to preparing and assembling food items, setting up stations, serving and replenishing food. The Food Service Worker - Catering cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Specifically the Food Service Worker - Catering who spends a majority of their time in catering is responsible for coordinating activities of catering services. Essential Functions: Reviews catered functions on a daily basis, and plans for preparation of items based on requested service times. Delivers food, dishes, and any needed supplies to appropriate rooms. Inspects set up for proper selections, attractiveness, palatability and temperature of food. Maintains log of food items and any additions once event occurs. Assists in receiving, inspecting, storing and dispersing food items and supplies ordered for events. Maintains department storage areas for catering supplies in compliance with sanitation standards. Follow HACCP guidelines as per policies and procedures. Crosstrained to support the Cafeteria: Serve food, operate cash register, reconcile cash deposits per cash handling policies, stock merchandise, and work equipment in area. At times may assist in other areas of dept including but not limited to: MD Lounge, Cafeteria, and Patient Areas. Other duties as assigned throughout the Department by the Nutritional Services Supervisor and/or Management team.
