Quality Assurance Technician
Aerovel (The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our aircraft quality department based in Bingen, WA. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of unmanned aircraft systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, supplier, and manufacturing personnel to uphold rigorous quality control standards and processes. Your Challenges: Primary Responsibilities: Quality Control: 35%
Perform required technical inspections to receive or reject incoming material, airframes, aircraft components, and to detect/report suspected unapproved parts
Perform in-process inspections for components in sub-assembly and final assembly stations. This will include assessing electrical and composite components as well as complex sub-assemblies. Need MRO and paint shop to judge the serviceability or rejection of manufactured parts, electrical components, and paint
Assist with and/or review investigations into quality-related issues
Monitor and track corrective actions to address any quality issues
Use precision measuring tools and equipment to assess dimensions, tolerances, and material properties
Identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances, document findings and work with appropriate stakeholders to correct or mitigate recurrence
Physically and systematically quarantine non-conforming components and assemblies identified during inspections
Perform First Article Inspections
Ensure proper tagging, identification, and airworthiness of production parts
Quality Assurance: 35%
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and documentation
Document QC inspection results, non-conformances, and other quality-related issues; communicate and resolve these findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative actions
Develop and implement quality-related policies, procedures, and programs
Develop necessary inspection requirements from supplier, incoming, in process, and final inspection points as required
Conduct internal audits on manufacturing lines to assess adherence to established quality standards, contributing to the enhancement of overall quality control
Collaborate with production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards during manufacturing and assembly
Quality Department Support/Continuous Improvement: 30%

Your Boarding Pass: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Four (4) years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a QA/QC role; preferably under an approved quality management system such as AS9100 or ISO9001
Less than 10% Domestic and International Travel involved
Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bill of materials (BOMs)
Ability to use hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and testing fixtures
Exceptional attention to detail to conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate records
Experience and working knowledge of production techniques and quality systems in the aerospace manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English
MS Office or G Suite systems proficiency
Preferred: Associates or Bachelors Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in Aviation or robotics industry
Experience in unmanned aviation industry
Current/Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
FCC 2nd Class License
Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Certificate
Proficiency in French, German, or Spanish
Adobe Acrobat proficiency

Experience with TipQA or other Quality Management Systems
Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: 90%
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports, and engineering drawings daily. Must have correctable near and far vision if applicable.
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and able to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms - daily.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications - daily.
Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools - daily.
