As a Senior Engineer on the Distribution Operations team at Florida Power & Light, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our power distribution systems. Your expertise will be critical in driving innovation, improving system performance, and enhancing the overall reliability of our distribution network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize distribution infrastructure, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic direction of our operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of electric distribution systems to enhance reliability and performance. Work on all aspects of engineering design and permitting. Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting. Act as a single point of contact on low to complex projects for the department. Assist with policies, training, and technical support for the organization. Develop and implement engineering solutions for complex distribution challenges. Conduct detailed technical studies to evaluate system performance, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements. Collaborate with other departments, to ensure seamless integration with distribution operations. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and adoption of best practices. Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing the distribution infrastructure and enhancing grid resilience. Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
