MercyOne Clinton has a staff of more than 800 employees, making it one of the community's largest employers. Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Dialysis Tech. As a Dialysis Tech at MercyOne, you will assist with patient care in the dialysis unit by setting up equipment, initiating, monitoring and terminating dialysis treatments. Ages served are adolescent to adult. Responsibilities include: Monitors inventory levels, enters patient charges and orders in the computer, mixes dialysis concentrates and assists with monitoring and care of the water treatment system. Communicates with ancillary caregivers, patients and families regarding the patient's needs and care. Documents patient care/assessment data on the appropriate dialysis run sheet record including but not limited to vital signs, patient subjective problems, pain rating, post dialysis status and access assessment. Demonstrates patient and colleague safety issues by regular and proper use of patient lifts and other equipment provided by the medical center. Follows policy for use of lifting equipment and gait belts to lift and transfer. Attends In-services on new equipment. Understands and demonstrates proficiency on unit specific equipment. Identifies opportunities to improve patient care. Meets unit specific competencies. Considers the cost of supplies with the delivery of care for each patient. Maintains knowledge of equipment and continuously learns new technology and is able to trouble shoot equipment, report malfunctioning equipment and ensure its repair and return to service. Schedule: Monday
Saturday; varied shifts 3:45 am
5:00 pm General Requirements: Graduate or active enrollment in a Medical Technological or professional school preferred. Minimum of 1 years' experience or education in a health-related field. Must be BLS certified within 3 months. Must be certified under a state certification program or a national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be capable of problem solving, maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and respect to all customers. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
