Residential Psych Tech
Residential Psych Tech (RPT) is a staff level employee who is a member of the cottage based treatment team and is responsible for providing day-to-day care and supervision of the children/residents and assists in the implementation of the individualized treatment plan of each resident as prescribed. RPT provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. RPT demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. RPT will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. RPT reports to the Cottage Supervisor. Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Education: A high school degree or equivalent is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in group care or a professional setting with youth and children Responsibilities: Charts all pertinent observation on a continuing basis regarding residents Subject to mandatory overtime and shift changes Perform all other duties as assigned. Supervises and assists residents in wake-up, meals, recreation, counseling, education/vocation needs, daily routine and hygiene, house rules and sleep Works as a team member with other staff to implement program plans Provides direct behavior observations and reinforcement of appropriate behaviors as prescribed by the cottage based treatment team Participates in Team Meetings, shift information exchanges, daily cottage briefings and has input in the evaluation and treatment plan progress of each resident Physical Requirements: Normal direct care environment. Medium physical effort requires handling of average weight objects of up to 50 pounds and standing and walking. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours and deal with irate individuals. TB test upon hire.
