System Engineer
Are you willing to learn and collaborate with an expansive team of talented system and software engineers on the modernization of hardware and migration of software on Korean Navy Destroyers and other USN supported FMS programs? If so, come join BAE as a system engineer. This position is for an individual who will be a part of an integrated program team working a naval defense system for weapons control. The individual must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, and make value added assessments. The candidate will support program performance development and problem resolution, potential interface design changes, and various test phases that include test planning, test procedure development, test conduct, and data/test results analysis. The focus is on delivering the system and its rehosted software through the development lifecycle of the weapon system program and follow-on execution in a field deployment environment. The candidate must be able to communicate with diverse sets of external and internal engineers and support staff to drive the Weapons Direction System (WDS) rehost and development from concept to implementation and test. Occasional travel will be required to various facilities to participate in system testing. Required Education, Experience, & Skills B.S. degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years related systems engineering experience, OR In lieu of degree, 10+ years of design/test experience with combat/weapon systems Product development experience with requirement analysis, architecture, system design, or integration and test Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Participation in peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer meetings Must be able to support US and foreign travel Able to obtain a DOD SECRET level security clearance Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills M.S. degree in a STEM discipline Experience in weapon systems technology related to Anti Air Warfare Systems particularly the STANDARD Missile family of systems Experience with conducting and supporting test events at Land-Based Test Sites and onboard ship. Experience in collaborative system design Lifecycle development, including development and/or review of system designs, software, components, subsystem requirements and operational concepts Experience deriving, decomposing, and allocating performance requirements for traceability Experience in the development and review of test/analysis plans and test procedures Experience with presenting findings at design reviews internally or with customers Identify Performance Measures to test, conduct testing and perform analysis (eg. Rehost, integration, verification & validation, regression tests) Support in development or modification of external and internal interface definitions Participation in trade studies, technical reviews and customer meetings Experience leading small teams Active DOD SECRET level security clearance Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
