Relocation assistance is provided but sponsorship is not provided. This is an onsite position in The Woodlands, TX. This position can be filled as a System Operator, LBA I, II, or Sr. Job Summary/Purpose:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and analysis of Entergy's Local Balancing Authority (LBA) System Operations in real-time. The LBA System Operator will work as a team member to maintain situational awareness and compliance of all regulatory requirements. Responsible for communication with MISO, impacted real-time personnel, and others for system reliability. In addition, this position serves a key role in strategy development, organizational training, and overall process improvement related to ISO market operations. Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Monitor real-time Local Balancing Authority (LBA) operations in a safe and reliable manner. Balance hourly net actual interchange with adjacent BAs/LBAs for daily submission to MISO. Monitor GMS/SCADA systems to ensure accurate meter data representations for real-time and after-the-fact energy accounting. Support MISO BA in performing Emergency Operations to include system restoration and load shed if necessary. Coordinate and communicate with MISO, TOP, SERC, SPO/EMO, LBA Meter Data Services, External BAs/LBAs, and all Embedded Entities within the LBA footprint to ensure system reliability. Analyze and react to real-time conditions and take proactive measures to influence forward plans to ensure system reliability. Manage real-time operations and operational compliance utilizing internal Operating Guides and Procedures as well as NERC performance standards. Has the authority to take or direct timely and appropriate real-time actions without obtaining approval from higher level personnel. Maintain rotating shift schedules 12-hour shifts and adhere to all compliance measures and support initiatives as requested. Support changing business needs including shift coverage on designated Relief shifts as needed. Minimum Requirements:

Minimum education Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or equivalent power system operations work experience is preferred. Minimum experience System Operator I: 0-2 Years System Operator II: 2-4 Years System Operator Sr: 4-6 Years Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities Ability to learn RTO/Power Pool markets and operations, Power Plant and/or Power System Operations. Able to perform all job tasks with minimum supervision. Demonstrates the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant real-time issues. Able to direct shift activities and serve a leader with little or no supervision from management. Able to work a 12-hour shift schedule in support of a 24X7 operation and provide shift coverage as needed. Any Certifications, Licenses, etc. NERC Certified System Operator Reliability Coordinator level is preferred. Candidate must pass their NERC RC within 12 months of hire.
