Ultrasound Fellowship, Department of Emergency Medicine
The Department of Emergency Medicine, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks multiple candidates to join the faculty as tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructors for its Ultrasound Fellowship. The Emergency Ultrasound program is designed to produce national leaders and is directed by Dr. Christopher Thom, Ultrasound Director. The Chair for the Department of Emergency Medicine is Dr. Andrew E. Muck, MD, MBA. The University of Virginia Medical Center is a 600-bed tertiary care and Level 1 Trauma center located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville. Currently, the UVA Emergency Department treats an annual volume of >60,000 patients inclusive of adult and pediatrics. The UVA Emergency Department has a well-established residency program with a stable group of excellent faculty members who are active regionally, nationally, and internationally in teaching, research, and advocacy. Opportunities for excellent clinical and laboratory-based research and teaching pursuits working within the collegial work environment are available. Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO and have completed an ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine residency or ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine, or approved subspecialty, fellowship. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible and be eligible to obtain clinical privileges in the UVA Department of Emergency Medicine, or subspecialty, prior to July 2025. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a genuine passion in the area of interest to which they apply.
