Automotive Service Estimator/Dispatcher

Job Title: Automotive Service Estimator / Dispatcher Location: 5485 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512 Job Overview: As an automotive estimator/dispatcher with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will play a critical role in our automotive shop, ensuring that every guest receives top-notch service and their vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. With your excellent communication and organizational skills, you will coordinate with technicians, answer guest inquiries, and maintain an organized repair log to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: implementing and maintaining an effective dispatch system, scheduling work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with the shop policy and distributing service tickets to technicians considering the workload, difficulty, and our guest needs, reviewing all digital vehicle inspections by technicians, maintaining an organized and up-to-date repair log, answering customer inquiries and preparing estimates for our guest, presenting the best solution to properly repair our customer's vehicles in a way that is easy for them to understand, ensuring that all work is performed to proper specifications and within the time promised to the guest, building relationships with part supply vendors, tool vendors, and all external vendors effectively, prioritizing technician workloads with part availability, preparing a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs - reviews service department repairs with the Service Manager, coordinating and scheduling maintenance for shop equipment, responsible for the part supply process, including inventory, pricing, returns, warranty claims, etc., regularly interacting with external vendors on parts inventory and pricing, working together as a team and assisting other employees as needed, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills, customer service skills, proficient in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications, previous experience in an automotive sales, advisor/writer, or estimator/dispatcher position preferred. Physical Requirements: being dependable and reliable for a position that is scheduled for Monday

6pm, being on your feet the majority of the workday (standing, walking, coordinating parts, etc.), occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs., keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.
