At Advanced Veterinary Specialists, our medical staff consists of board-certified specialists in surgery, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, and dentistry in addition to a skilled and experienced group of emergency veterinarians. We are proud of the doctors we have appointed to provide you and your pet the highest level of care possible. The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society accredited Advanced Veterinary Specialists as a Level II Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Facility in January 2015. Only two veterinary hospitals in California have received the Level II distinction, and one of them is AVS! We are looking for a new Client Service Coordinator at our gorgeous Santa Barbara hospital. Who We're Looking For: Our customer service team members are responsible for maintaining a positive, caring, and friendly reception to our clients and patients. You will be instrumental in welcoming clients scheduling and confirming appointments, screening client phone calls, maintaining detailed and accurate client records, admitting, and discharging patients, filing, receiving, and posting payments, addressing client concerns -and you will be a part of a team dedicated to providing the most compassionate care to pet families. This is a fast-paced job, and we are looking for a candidate who is ready to work hard, learn about veterinary medicine, get a little furry, and jump in wherever needed. We have a fun team that is proud of our work and are looking to add more eager team members. Some of the Responsibilities You May Own in This Role: Greeting clients and being the first face of Advanced Veterinary Specialists Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and preparing our clients for their visit Helping coordinate workflow between clients and the clinical team Compiling veterinary medical charts Entering client and patient data into our hospital information system Collecting payments and other administrative duties Basic Required Qualifications: High school diploma 1+ years of customer service experience - veterinary hospital experience strongly preferred 1+ years of hospitality or receptionist experience (e.g., creating a friendly and receptive environment for clients) Competent computer skills including reliable and consistent ability to enter data into medical records Effective working knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Type 45+ wpm and use 10-key calculator Work Schedule: Full-time Weekend and some holiday availability needed Day shift Full-time benefits include: health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, flex-spending accounts, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, 3 weeks accrued paid time off, and uniforms.
