Akima Logistics Services is seeking an Aircraft Servicer for the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) at the Benjamin O. Davis Airfield. This introductory position will be eligible for promotion to aircraft mechanic with completion of training records and management approval. Responsibilities The Aircraft Servicer responsibilities include but is not limited to: Aircraft refueling, oil servicing, de-icing, inflating tires, cleaning aircraft, staging fire bottles for daily operations, ground handling, and hangaring of aircraft. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds over your head. The work will be conducted in a challenging environment with variable weather conditions. The servicer will be required to assist with line maintenance, as well as scheduled maintenance. These tasks include but are not limited to; adjust and replace parts such as control cables, fuel tanks, spark plugs, tires, batteries, removal of inspection panels, cowlings, floorboards and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replaces these items when work is completed. The servicer will assist in towing and jacking of aircraft, maintenance and inspection of ignition systems, instruments, and fuel/oil lines. The servicer will assist in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, tires, brakes, and additional green tag parts. The servicer will be required to keep inventory of consumables such as oil, tires, and chemicals. The servicer will also be expected to help mechanics by furnishing them with parts, materials, tools and equipment as needed. The servicer will assist the mechanic in cleaning hangars and work area after maintenance. The servicer will be expected to keep hangars and support equipment organized and help with inventory and maintenance of support equipment. Qualifications Highschool Diploma or equivalent. Valid Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (A&P). Valid Drivers License. Basic computer skills. Must be a U.S. citizen. Ability to successfully pass basic Background Check and Drug Screen. Work Type On-Site Pay Range $31.71 per hour Benefits CBA - The benefits and leave offered will be as defined under the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
