Building Monitor
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Building Monitor at its Detroit campus location. Essential Functions (Job Duties):
The monitor provides an extra sense of security to an assigned area on campus, through checking people entering WSU buildings during normal business hours. Monitors will usually be in a uniform identifying them as a part of the Wayne State Police department (but non-sworn). Monitors assist in keeping the normal flow of business by directing and assisting students, staff, and visitors. They are essential in keeping disruptive persons out and non-WSU personnel away from the buildings. Monitors are equipped with a police radio to call police personnel to assist with escorting disruptive individuals. Monitors are staged just inside of building entrances (at a station, which also contains a telephone). Monitors may also have extra information at hand about the staff/offices belonging in that building. Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma Due to the nature of the position, many monitors are usually retired police personnel or possess an extensive background in private security. Employment Type:
