Baler Operator
SA Recycling, a world leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is actively looking for a Baler Operator. As a Baler Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of an industrial baler and related production equipment. This role supports the recycling and production process by ensuring materials are handled, processed, and prepared in accordance with company quality and safety standards. This position will work inside and outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Direct and/or operate skid steer operator into position for feeding scrap metal into the machine and removing completed bales. Make good, clean, neat bales by ensuring the correct material is being fed into the baler; the baler is filled to the appropriate level; and that the correct procedures are being followed for baling. Strap all bales securely for storage and transportation. Perform daily baler inspections and report any concerns, defects or needed repairs to supervisor. Conducts routine preventative maintenance tasks as directed and outlined by SA Recycling and the manufacturers guidelines. Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures. Qualifications of a NF Baler Operator: High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience. 1 year experience operating a Baler (or other hydraulic equipment) in the scrap metal or other recycling facility, refuse, or a warehouse setting preferred. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume and rate. Ability to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form. Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
