Short Description
The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in delivering full, end-to-end solutions to our customers by bridging the gap between System Architecture, Product Development Engineering (PDE), and other cross-functional teams within the DDN Business Unit. This role owns the system-level definition, integration, and execution of high-speed interconnect solutions, ensuring they meet customer performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements. As a central technical point of coordination, the Systems Engineer ensures that all componentsmechanical, electrical, signal/power integrity (SI/PI), thermal, and manufacturingalign to form a cohesive, customer-ready system. This is a customer-impacting, highly collaborative role, requiring close alignment with sales, program management, and operations teams. What Your Background Should Look Like:
Bachelor's degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred) Generally requires 12 years of relevant work experience Experienced in cross-disciplinary product development (preferably in interconnects, datacenter systems, or high-speed electronics) Proven ability to lead system integration across mechanical, electrical, and signal integrity domains Experience managing customer requirements and delivering full system solutions Familiarity with simulation tools (ANSYS, HFSS, SI/PI analysis), CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks), and tolerance analysis Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations Comfortable working in a global environment and collaborating across geographies and disciplines Familiarity with computing, networking, AI / ML, and storage architectures. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences Effectively able to build relationships with external customers and industry leaders as well as internally across all levels, disciplines, and geographies Ability to spend 25%-30% of your time traveling Competencies
