School Bus Driver
The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and other educational activities. This role ensures the safety and well-being of all passengers while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Drivers must follow all traffic laws and school district policies while operating school buses on established routes. Start date: Asap for training Key responsibilities include: Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes, including mornings and afternoons. Ensure the safety of students during boarding, transport, and disembarkation. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety. Maintain order and discipline on the bus in accordance with school district policies. Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe behaviors to appropriate school officials. Maintain accurate records of route times, student counts, and any notable events. Follow all state and local traffic regulations as well as school district transportation procedures. Assist students with disabilities or special needs as necessary, including securing safety restraints. Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors. Ensure the bus is clean, fueled, and maintained in good working order. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Clean driving record and successful completion of background and drug screening. Strong commitment to student safety and excellent defensive driving skills. Patience, responsibility, and good communication skills. Ability to manage student behavior in a firm but respectful manner. Physical ability to assist students as needed and perform bus inspections.
