Material Handler
Under direct supervision, handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines and to ensure material availability and deliver when needed to meet production schedules. Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material. May require a high school diploma with 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Responsibilities
Sort, organize, and maintain packing and boxing inventory Operate lift equipment (fork truck, order picker, reach truck) Read production schedule and deliver correct parts or raw material to production or shipping Stage parts and finished products in correct storage area in warehouse Keep up with all material transactions in the computer system Load and unload trucks Assist production with prompt removal of scrap Performs daily OSHA required lift truck inspection Report mechanical or safety issues to management promptly Work in a constant state of alertness Regular and predictable attendance Work cooperatively with co-workers Qualifications
Lift truck experience required. Computer experience required. Overhead hoist or crane experience required. Education requirement: High school or GED. Hours Worked
This position is typically an 8-hour shift with a forty-hour work week. Some overtime may be required to meet production demands. 1st Shift - 6:00AM - 2:00PM.
