Responsible for providing a safe, attractive, and functional environment. Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned: Maintains general repair/installation work on all types of Hospital equipment, systems or facilities. Assures proper operational and regulatory documentation is maintained. Assures that the facility, equipment, and its systems are maintained to meet regulatory requirements and in a safe operating condition, and continually works in a safe manner following all relevant policies, procedures and codes. Evaluates malfunctioning systems, utilities and equipment and recommends repair or replacement as necessary. Processes work orders and preventive maintenance orders through the system in an effective and timely manner. Keeps self-informed on code requirements and changes in procedures. Maintains a clean work area, tools and shop. Monitors building automation printouts and makes corrects as necessary. Performs any task or duty as requested and assigned in order to accommodate hospital and departmental needs. Operations/Maintenance - Essential Functions Performs all needed maintenance of systems, utilities, and equipment including routine cleaning and servicing as assigned, as well as the ability to maintain 120/208/277/480 volt equipment and equipment-related power and control devices. Installs or repairs all types of systems, utilities, equipment, piping, valves, and fixtures with a working knowledge of relevant codes and practices. Operations/Maintenance - Other Functions Cleans systems, utilities, equipment, piping, drains, or fixtures as needed to maintain Hospital services. Develops spare parts recommendations for equipment and submits repair parts requisitions as necessary. Maintains all on and off campus properties. Energy Center

Essential Functions Maintains Energy Center operations in accordance with standard operating procedures. This includes all equipment associated with steam generation: boilers, feed water system, condensation water system, soft water system, pumps and blow down equipment, and Energy Center control systems. Maintains documentation of all necessary records and daily operation records. Assist and accommodates the needs of required inspections: insurance carriers, EPA, and State of Indiana. Routine inspection of boiler room and mechanical rooms, checking for correct operation, making and forwarding needed repairs as necessary to appropriate staff. Has knowledge of building plans and working drawings so as to assist in the repairs of systems and equipment. Works closely and assist other maintenance personnel as necessary. Assist contractors and consultants as necessary with construction projects and system's operational problems and maintenance issues. Required Certification/License/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
