Front Desk Student Assistant (Work-Study) - Department Of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science (CS) is looking for a service-oriented, proactive, and adaptable work-study student worker to provide support to the department's front desk reception and perform administrative tasks. Specific schedule will be determined at the time of hiring. In this position, you will carry out various tasks and support the Department of Computer Science. The position has a lot of variety, skill-building, and responsibility. It is suited for someone who likes problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organization. Your duties are likely to evolve as you gain experience within the department. This is a long-term opportunity that can lead into Spring 2026 (depending on performance). Responsibilities
Provide coverage for the front desk in the department's administrative suite. Welcome staff, faculty, and visitors to the department. Sort and deliver mail and packages received in the CS mailroom Make photocopies Manage the lost and found log Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Must be a current, full-time student eligible with a federal work-study award Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to reliably adhere to CS policies and instructions Experience with most standard office technology and software Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Slack Previous customer service experience Salary Range
$12.00 per hour Working Conditions
Typical office environment onsite at the Department of Computer Science Location: Dell Gates Complex (GDC), 2317 Speedway, GDC 2.302 Work Shift
Up to 19 hours per week. Hours will be during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. This position will start in August 2025 with the possibility of continuing employment beyond the 2025-2026 academic year. There is one (1) open position. Required Materials
